Faraday Future’s FF 91 is here and Faraday Future is one of the newest competitors in the automotive industry. A few hours ago, they just unveiled its all new electric car named “FF 91” few hours ago at Consumer Electronic Show 2017.

With the current paradigm shift in the automotive industry towards electric cars, “FF 91’ definitely brings heavy competition towards the current electric OEM manufactures. In last year same time, January 2016, Faraday Future announced FFZERO 1, super electric car at CES 2016. It was their very first official appearance. Until then, the company was operating in stealth mode until 2016 in California.  Since then, Faraday Future (FF) has come a long way. Founded in May 2014 by a handful of industry pioneers, FF quickly gained momentum as a newcomer in the industry. Based in Los Angeles, FF has since opened two new offices in the U.S. in Silicon Valley and North Las Vegas. Currently, the company is building a State-of-the-Art Manufacturing Facility (3 million square foot, 900-acre) worth $1 billion in North Las Vegas, Nevada. Today, they unveiled “FF 91” which will be available in the market in 2018. The car is planned to be built in Nevada plant.

We have to until 2018 before consumers can actually drive themselves. One thing for sure that the launch of FF 91 at CES 2017 today, definitely delivers the promise of Faraday Future. One thing is certain that the automotive industry is currently going through the biggest change in last 100 years. In fact, the automotive industry will change more in coming 5 to 10 years than it has in the last 50. A competition between players such as Faraday Future, NextEV, Lucid Motors, Tesla, BMW, Rimac, Porsche and others will definitely give more sustainable, capable and more exciting cars than ever before.

BMW Motorrad Vision Next 100 – Features & Official Video

A few hours ago, BMW Motorrad revealed it’s new concept motorcycle named Vision Next 100 at the “Iconic Impulses. The BMW Group Future Experience” exhibition in Los Angeles. The unique design of the motorcycle is inspired by the 1923 BMW R32.

DID TESLA MOTORS FINALLY MEET ITS MATCH? TESLA-S vs FFZERO-1

Well, we don’t need to wait that long to answer that question, as a new automotive company named Faraday Future, just announced FFZERO 1, super electric car at CES 2016. Faraday Future located in California was operating in stealth mode for last 1.5 years and they revealed the FFZERO 1 including a full video of the car’s features. One of the coolest feature is, variable platform architecture, in other words modular basis of its design, which can be a complete game changer in the automotive industry.

Experts are saying this company is going to disrupt the automotive industry. One thing is for sure, once the car will be out in the market it will definitely give high competition to Tesla Motors.

Tesla was the No # 1 Electric Vehicle brand in the USA in 2015. The company introduced Model X and with newer version of Tesla S, total delivery of vehicles was 50,580 in 2015. Also, when it comes to technology and features in a car, Tesla was undoubtedly leading the EV market. Until, Faraday Future showed the FFZERO 1 concept car.

Best way to compare this two company is to compare their latest car models specification and features. So, I took the liberty to carry out some comparative research between Tesla S P85D Model and FFZERO 1  model and the result speaks for itself:

When it comes to horsepower, FFZERO 1 have massive 1000 horsepower with 4 quad core motors. Also when it comes to acceleration, both the model are neck to neck. Also, FFZERO1 claims to be 45 mph ( 72 km/h ) faster than Tesla S P85D. Within thrashing 200 mph ( 321 km/h ), it’s no doubt it’s more powerful than Tesla S P85D Model.

When it comes to battery, it’s yet to disclosed about FFZERO 1’s battery range. Till date, Tesla cars are unbeatable, considering range of the battery. It would be definitely a challenge for Faraday Future to match, even to overcome battery feature.

While designing this new super electric car, Faraday Future took the liberty to integrate some of the latest features that technology has to offer.

We need to a bit longer to experience these features. For now, all we know that Faraday Future, collaborating with various companies such as LeTV in China to implement up-to-date features in the car. This company have promised to deliver the best quality EV. With 550 employees on board + renowned automotive industry experts, we can definitely expect a key competitor to Tesla. As Tesla is not present in CES 2016, we need to wait a bit more to see Elon Musk’s reaction on FFZERO1’s high ambition.

No matter who wins this competition, one thing is for sure customers are going to experience some innovative features that today’s technology has to offer.

Yesterday, 21st January, 2015, Microsoft took this definition to another level when they introduced Microsoft Hololens. So, what is Microsoft Hololens?

Imagine you are having Google Glass with additional features which enables you to interact with three-dimensional holograms blended with your real world. As Microsoft quoted, “it’s more than a simple heads-up display, and its transparency means you never lose sight of the world around you. High-definition holograms integrated with your real world will unlock all-new ways to create, communicate, work, and play”

Designed and Development Process

Well, you are right, the term “Augmented Reality” is nothing new in automotive industry. OEMs are already testing and using it via using laser projected augmented reality. Especially the designers using it during development process in order to visualize actual proportions and sizes, geometry etc. But, this required the OEM to build an initial model to project on  and it requires expensive projection system.

But now the time has come to forget laser projected augmented reality system. With Microsoft Hololens, OEM’s can just play around with the holograms and even interact with them for just € 1,300- €1500

Go Inside the Problem & Find the Solution

Let’s take a simple example of Door Locking Assembly System. In a door locking system, there’s a small space inside the door necessitates precise preparation and movement of locking system. It has a little lever to be engaged in the lock which makes it impossible to see the lock and the lever adequate enough from that position. Also, the poor space between inside the door which makes it difficult for the workers to work. In order to solve this problem, the workers require a good three dimensional understanding of the space. With the help of Microsoft Hololens, the worker will be able to see through the door (via holographic projection) will be able to fix assemble with ease.

I am working at Nedschroef, where we are constantly innovating and introducing new fasteners and solutions to the OEMs. Let’s take an example, of one of the product called Nedsonic® also known as Ultrasonic Tightening Bolt. When it comes to bolt, one thing is most important: clamp load. To ensure bolts hold components together, they are tighten to generate clamp load. This tightening causes the bolts to elongate. By sending an ultrasonic wave into the bolt and recording the duration of the wave’s travel, the length of the bolt can be determined. By using Microsoft Hololens, the line feeding workers will be able to view in real-time, measure, evaluate and indicate the achieved clamp load, which will result in reliable and profound clamp load.
